From August 2021 to August 2022, nonfarm payroll employment increased in 46 states and the District of Columbia and was essentially unchanged in 4 states. The largest percentage increases occurred in Texas (+5.7 percent) and Nevada (+5.0 percent), followed by Florida, Georgia, and New Jersey (+4.9 percent each).
