Median usual weekly earnings of men and women, 2010 to 2018

Median weekly earnings of full-time wage and salary workers were $991 for men and $796 for women (seasonally adjusted) in the fourth quarter of 2018. A year earlier, in the fourth quarter of 2017, men's earnings were $943, while women's were $771.

Also see Charts related to the latest "Usual Weekly Earnings" news release. Full-time workers usually work 35 hours or more per week at their sole or main job. The median is the midpoint in the earnings distribution; half of workers earn more than the median and half earn less.
