For the 12 months ended April 2018, the Producer Price Index for final demand increased 2.6 percent. The index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services advanced 2.5 percent over the past year. The index for energy went up 9.0 percent.

Prices for goods went up 2.9 percent over the past year, while prices for foods fell 0.3 percent.
The Producer Price Index for services went up 2.4 percent from April 2017 to April 2018. Within the services category, prices for trade increased 1.9 percent and prices for transportation and warehousing increased 4.7 percent.
