21 states added jobs in year ending January 2018

From January 2017 to January 2018, 21 states added nonfarm payroll jobs and 29 states and the District were essentially unchanged. The largest job gains occurred in California (+400,100), Texas (+240,500), and Florida (+150,900). The largest percentage gain occurred in Utah (+3.1 percent), followed by Idaho, Nevada, and Washington (+2.8 percent each).
