Meetings for International Visitors

The Division of International Technical Cooperation arranges in-person and virtual meetings for international visitors with Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) subject matter experts. Visitors include economists, statisticians, researchers, analysts, managers, academics, trade union representatives, business leaders, and journalists. Meetings are arranged for individuals, as well as for groups of all sizes, and are organized to meet the needs and interests of the visitors. Meetings are typically scheduled for one to two hours. Meetings are conducted in English. Non-English speaking visitors must bring their own interpreter.

Request a Meeting

Requests to meet with BLS staff should be made as far in advance as possible. Please contact us to request a meeting. Requests should include the following information:

  • Preferred dates and time of meeting or visit to BLS
  • Number of participants and their names
  • Names of interpreters, if applicable
  • Topic(s) of interest (please provide as much detail as possible)
  • Mention of any previous visits to BLS and/or meetings with BLS staff

Security Procedures

In-person visitors are required to enter BLS through the 1st Street, NE entrance (between Massachusetts Avenue and G Street, NE) across from Union Station and are required to show photo identification, such as a passport, to gain entry into BLS. After verification, visitors will be screened with X-ray and metal detection equipment. Click here for directions to BLS.
