Number of job openings declined to 7.1 million in February 2019

On the last business day of February 2019, the number of job openings was 7.1 million, representing a decline of 538,000 from the previous month. The job openings rate—the number of job openings as a percentage of total employment plus the total number of job openings—was 4.5 percent in February, decreasing from 4.8 percent in January 2019.
