Maricopa, Arizona, had the largest percentage employment gain (2.8 percent) among the 10 largest U.S. counties from June 2017 to June 2018. Among the major industries in Maricopa, construction experienced the largest percentage increase in employment over that period (7.1 percent). Trade, transportation, and utilities had the largest over-the-year employment increase with a gain of 10,775 jobs, or 2.9 percent.
