Private job openings increase by 241,000 from July 2016 to July 2017

On the last business day of July 2017, there were 5.7 million private industry job openings, an increase of 241,000 from July 2016. The largest over-the-year increase among major industries was in other services (126,000). Professional and business services decreased by 149,000.

From July 2016 to July 2017, other industries with increases included leisure and hospitality (98,000), information (29,000), and mining and logging (17,000).
