Revisions to Labor Productivity and Costs by Industry: Manufacturing and Mining Industries - 2020

On August 26, 2021, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) revised data published in Productivity and Costs by Industry: Manufacturing and Mining Industries - 2020, originally released on April 29, 2021. The revisions include:

  • revisions to 2018-2019 output due to the incorporation of benchmark data from the 2017 Economic Census data including new North American Product Classification System (NAPCS) based product data,
  • revisions to 2020 output and compensation due to the incorporation of updated source data from the Federal Reserve Board and the BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program.
