38 large metro areas had over-the-year decreases in unemployment rates in November 2022

Thirty-eight of 51 large metropolitan areas had decreases in unemployment rates over the year ended November 2022, while 9 of these areas had increases and 4 had no change. Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, California, and New Orleans-Metairie, Louisiana, experienced the largest decreases, 1.6 percentage points each. They were followed by New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA, where the unemployment rate decreased by 1.5 percentage points. The largest jobless rate increase was in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (0.6 percentage point).
