Import fuel prices rose 16.9 percent from October 2021 to October 2022. A 16.8-percent advance in import petroleum prices and a 20.8-percent advance in import natural gas prices contributed to this increase.

Nonfuel import prices increased 2.9 percent from October 2021 to October 2022 led by higher prices for nonfuel industrial supplies and materials (5.9 percent). Other increases among nonfuel imports occurred in foods, feed, and beverages (2.2 percent), capital goods (3.0 percent), automotive vehicles, parts, and engines (3.2 percent), and consumer goods, excluding automotives (1.1 percent).
