Employment and unemployment where U.S. Women's National Team members play pro soccer

While the U.S. Women’s National Team takes care of business at the World Cup in France, we take a look at employment and unemployment in the metro areas where these reigning 2015 World Cup champs play professional soccer when they are not competing for the international championship every 4 years.

Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, Florida, home of the Orlando Pride, had the highest over-the-year employment gain, at 3.5 percent, and tied with Salt Lake City, Utah (Utah Royals FC) for the lowest unemployment rate, at 2.7 percent for the year ending April 2019.  Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, District of Columbia-Virginia-Maryland-West Virginia (Washington Spirit) had the lowest over-the-year employment gain, at 0.9 percent, while Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, Illinois-Indiana-Wisconsin (Chicago Red Stars) had the highest unemployment rate among these.
