Do you rely on a landline phone or your cell phone for your telephone service needs? While the use of landline services has decreased over the past decade, the use of wireless phone services has increased. In contrast to usage, consumer prices for these services have moved in opposite directions.
From December 2009 to September 2015, the Consumer Price Index for wireless telephone services decreased 13 percent compared with a 14-percent increase for landline services. Over the same period, the index for all items increased 10 percent.
