Changes to JOLTS Series Codes

JOLTS changed the structure of its series codes to allow for the publication of establishment size class data and the potential future publication of state data and Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) data. These changes occurred with the release of JOLTS data on October 6, 2020.

JOLTS changed the name of one of our mapping files as well as added two new mapping files.

Modified mapping file:

  • jt.region will become jt.state

New mapping files:

  • jt.area
  • jt.sizeclass

The new series code structure is as follows:
