QCEW Data Source Counts

QCEW Reports and employment - by Type and Source

QCEW data is reported via several channels. A majority of QCEW data comes from state LMI departments who receive data from their UI Tax Department partners. QCEW also collects MWR data electronically via the BLS-operated MWR Web site and the BLS EDI center. BLS manages a contract to print and collect MWR paper forms for 38 states. The remaining states print/mail forms in-house.

BLS offers respondents increased electronic reporting options, working with our MWR contractor to scan as much data as possible electronically, and researching other options to increase web reporting.
