Corrections to ATUS estimatesCorrection of “TIME-USE SURVEY--FIRST RESULTS ANNOUNCED BY BLS” news releaseThe “Time Use Survey—First Results Announced By BLS” news release of September 14, 2004 contained some incorrect data. Corrections have been made online to the 4 affected tables. The news release text was not affected. The changes are very minor and do not affect any of the analysis in the news release. Following publication of estimates from the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) in the September 14 news release, further data consistency checks were conducted during preparation of the ATUS microdata file for public release. In that process, a few errors were found in edit programs and were corrected. The corrections affected some variable values in a very small number of the 20,720 cases used to generate ATUS estimates. Please see the reissued news release, “Time Use Survey—First Results Announced by BLS” (TXT) (PDF) for the corrected data. Tables 4, 5, 6, and 9 were affected. Corrected data are indicated with a “c.”
