Import and export price gains ease in 1989

Annual rates of prices increase for both imports and exports were considerably lower than those posted during the preceding 2 years, reflecting a slowdown in the U.S. economy and the turnaround of the dollar. This article reports on changes in import and export price indexes during 1989.
