Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries ‐ Correction to the FI database

The Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) Program recently discovered an error for a very small percentage of data points for the reference year 2005 in its database file (FI). The FI database was corrected on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 29, 2008. The 2005 State fatal occupational injuries tables available at https://www.bls.gov/iif/oshwc/cfoi/tgs/2005/ were corrected on Wednesday, August 13, 2008.

The corrections mainly involved detailed data by State, though a few data points for the U.S. were affected. If you previously retrieved 2005 CFOI data, please retrieve it again to ensure that you have the correct data. The data can be extracted from the FI database by using one of the following tools:

BLS apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these corrections.
