Major Sector Multifactor Productivity: Multifactor productivity relates output to a combination of inputs used in the production of that output, such as labor and capital or labor, capital, energy and materials. Capital includes equipment, structures, inventories, and land. Annual multifactor productivity indexes are available for the private business and private nonfarm business sectors of the economy, for the aggregate manufacturing sector, for 20 2-digit Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) manufacturing industries and selected 3-and 4-digit SIC industries, as well as for the manufacturing sectors of selected countries.
