NOTE: Data for 2001 have been revised to reflect the introduction of Census 2000-based population controls. In addition, data on "represented by unions" incorporate a minor change to the allocation procedure for that item. The change in procedure had a neligible affect on the estimates. Some estimates for 2002 will differ slightly from those previously published in USDL 03-88, "Union Members in 2002." These differences are due to a change in the way the data were processed. Data refer to the sole or principal job of full- and part-time workers. Excluded are all self-employed workers regardless of whether or not their businesses are incorporated.
